“If it’s worth doing, it’s worth overdoing.”

Brian Boyd

Growing up in the Southeast, I always had a camera in my hands. A few LEGO stop-motion skits turned into climbing videos, and those eventually became a few “attempts” at narrative shorts. I was obsessed with old Westerns and Sci-Fi movies, finding stories and influence scattered throughout. Coincidentally, around the same time that my love for film was growing, so was my fascination with the outdoors and a variety of extreme sports. Having skateboarded my whole life, I developed an appetite for adrenaline early on and a passion for the media and culture that surrounded it.

Inevitably, it was only a matter of time before I started combining my two strongest passions. One led me to film school, and the other pushed me to move out West, where I started my own outdoor media company, Olympus Blue, permanently joining the two.

Currently 28 and based in Salt Lake City, I use my talents to help bridge the gaps and bring professional outdoor productions to life. My strongest work lies in editing and cinematography, with a particular focus on commercials, sound design, and documentary work. While skiing has become something of a love affair, I enjoy working on all kinds of projects and believe inspiration can come from anywhere.

I find that my approach to both work and life draws heavily from the idea that “misery makes memories.” I believe good things don’t come easy, and sometimes the hurdles along the way are what make the outcome worth it.
